Automated External Defibrillator (AED) installed in clubhouse
We are pleased to announce that the committee has purchased an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the reserve. The AED has now been installed and is available for use in an emergency.
Why this is important to us:
An AED can make a lifesaving difference if someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest. Defibrillation within minutes of collapse can substantially increase the chances of survival.
The device can be used by anyone, no special medical training is required: the AED provides clear voice and visual prompts to guide you through its use.
In a cardiac arrest situation, using the AED as soon as it is available along with prompt CPR can give someone the best possible chance.
Where to find the AED:
The AED is located on the left hand wall as soon as you enter the Clubhouse. It is clearly marked with posters. It has been placed on a special bracket at a height that is easily accessible to all of our members.
The AED is supplied in a convenient carry case, allowing it to be easily taken to any area of the reserve in the event of an emergency. Inside the case pocket, you will find essential items including scissors, a razor, gloves, a resuscitation shield, gauze, and a hand towel
How to use the AED:
A poster with clear instructions on what to do in the event of an emergency has been placed directly above the device. We encourage all members to take a moment to familiarise themselves with this information so that, in the unlikely event of an emergency, you feel confident and prepared to act quickly.
Here is a link you can watch that explains how to use an AED:

*Please note that our C1A AED is the fully automatic version that delivers the shock for you if needed, there is no shock button for you to press*
